The Novalux Laser TV

Novalux together with Arazor is one of the new exciting companies on the Laser TV market. Novalux is a laser technology company, so when it now has turned to TV they certainly know what they are talking about! Novalux is building its Laser TV upon a DLP chipset technology.

DLP Laser TV

The DLP and 3LCD technique is an existing HD TV technique along with the LCOS technique. In an old DLP system light from a UHP lamp is passed through a filter to transmit its red, green and blue primary colors. At the heart of all microdisplay-based TV projection systems there are a light engine! DLP is such a light engine.

Laser TV Light Engine

A Light Engine is a set of optics and electronics that illuminates and projects red, green and blue (RGB) light onto the TV screen. As technology moves forward, the Light Engines are getting smaller and smaller, allowing cheaper and lighter TV screens. With increased contrast and reduced component cost Necsel from Novalux is such an improvement in the area of 3LCD Light Engines.

3LCD Necsel Light Engine

The 3LCD Light Engine with Necsel technology is a simple cobination of red, green and blue lasers onto three LCD panels. Necsel thus elliminates several components in the old 3LCD techique including polarizers, color filters, mirrors and filters. This is because the old 3LCD technique used white light from a UHP lamp and then split this light into red, green and blue light.
